On a recent trip through the Hudson Valley we visited several antique stores. There were tons of antiques and junk to dig through especially at The Bottle Shop in Millbrook, NY. When the owner Kevin was a child he would walk back from school through the woods with a friend and dig up bottles. They took a few bottles to a high end antique dealer in a local barn who bought them just for fun. When the boys returned with boxes of bottles they were rejected so they set up a shop on a table right outside the barn. When they started to actually sell their finds they were given a room inside. That's how Kevin got started selling old bottles and salvage. He's still there today. When we saw him he was playing scrabble outside with a buddy!
